Commercial Real Estate Activity for the Entire U.S. Displayed Online in Real TimeIn a press release this week, CoStar Group, Inc. announced that, for the first time ever, online viewers can watch the constant flow of activity occurring throughout the commercial real estate industry on CoStar’s website.  The visual display captures the hundreds of thousands of listing updates, reported lease and sales transactions, and property searches taking place in CoStar’s comprehensive database of commercial real estate information every day, showing where the activity is occurring as it happens.

CoStar’s online national industry-wide activity map includes property information that CoStar research analysts add or update  in CoStar’s database approximately 130,000 times per day . This unprecedented collection of research-verified information, which includes more than 8 billion square feet of available space and more than 1.2 million active listings in the U.S. alone, serves as an essential resource for identifying available space, researching commercial real estate properties and markets, and analyzing market conditions.

This is good for the industry as everybody will find it easier to locate advisors, brokers and commercial real estate investment opportunities and keep track of what’s happening.

this feature is rather exciting and yet disturbing. looking at the map, i feel like a vulture waiting to devour on the next commercial real estate meal.

  3. Claudine Hatfield says:

good to see the deluge of bargain properties, or the lack of it, out in the market in the coming quarters, let’s see.

  4. Gladys Montez says:

Watch out for the anti-vulture missile defense system Munish! You’ll see them in flashing orange when it’s too late to pull-up after you dive-in for the kill.

  5. Martin Bernstein says:

@Munish – funny analogy. But I don’t feel like a vulture like you do. I feel like superman flying overhead looking at America waiting for that distressed commercial real estate property I can save next.
